HP/s is by far the best metric of party healing. If you have a better one please state it, don't beat around the bush.
Spirit build optimally adds up to 29 HP/s. Still not even 75% as powerful as AoD in HP/s, and the majority of it doesn't apply to allies. Then Life sucks ass to use, Rejuvenation dies (bodyblock with it and let it die faster? Makes sense), and your healing can end up gimped horribly.

Maybe I'm being biased because I already run ER prot in my teams. The pure party-heals and cond removal are all I need. Rejuv and Recup are party-wide and Recup lasts FOREVER. SY won't be maintained as an AoD, and another player would do better at maintaining it. You've just got a gimped healer, healing at max 30hp/s.

I remember that my friend was so proud of his tengu mask because he pre-ordered Factions and I didn't. He was wearing it and showing it off to me. With this update, I would be able to get that mask so it doesn't matter anymore whether I pre-ordered or not.
Bah...I am sure glad right now that I didn't intend to buy GW2 until years later because it wouldn't have made any difference in the end. Plus I get all the major bugs worked out and improvements added since release.

Mad of all the trees and natural resources wasted by people leaving their computers on for the events in the past actually.
The prestige is long gone.

My wife will agree with that. I'm sure she will be glad that I'm going to be able to turn off my computer from now on and not be obsessed with "being there " for the hats anymore.

I'm just sad so many of these, imo, no brainer changes are only being made now. I've been playing since 2005 and I have always wanted hats to be linked to an NPC rather than an arbitrary AFK requirement on a certain day, which for the same reason it was chosen is also the reason it's hard to be there on that day.
A lot of the recent changes (drunkard title change, festival hats change etc) are things which are making the game a lot better for the people who are still around and could have really helped others who missed them enjoy it more. Exclusivity and elitism create a poisonous atmosphere in an MMO when taken too far.

It is not so much a matter of prestige for me, but a matter of nostalgia. But that doesn't matter much, I don't have all the hats myself even though I have most of them. It would be a good chance for me to get those that I have missed.
If you want to save natural resources, then dont drive, cycle or walk instead. America is one of the most wasteful countries where it comes to dependence on gas.

Not going to happen.
Unlike the CEs, the hats were given for free.
The CEs were paid.
You can charge for something you gave for free as prestige, but you should not give for free something that you charged for as prestige.
Now, CE and pre-order updates in the GW Shop? That would be acceptable. Those who got the actual CEs still have the physical stuff no one else will ever get.

I'm very happy that finally I'll be able to get the first dragon mask, as I only had time to get 164 jade wind orbs before the masks were handed out. I was there, and I didn't have the mask to show it. I still have the orbs.....

Wonder if the 1 per year restriction applies to tokens or NPCs.
Will people get another token for Halloween masks and then one for Wintersday masks, or will one token do for this year?

People who care about cosmetics, especially hats, don't play gw. They play TF2.
...and Hatris.

They way I read it, it's one token per account, per event.
Which is why I'm prepping characters on my second account to be able to take part in the events and get a second token. 1 for the hat substitute and 1 for the hat if needed or to sell if not.
